No Fear

“No Fear” is a familiar saying. We’ve all heard it and take it to mean choosing to face down our fears. The majority of us have the liberty to make those choices but for untold thousands of children, the freedom to live their lives and make the simplest choices is not an option, so they live in fear. They don’t have the freedom of choosing what they do with their day let alone their life which is, at the most fundamental level, about survival and nothing more.

Human trafficking or slavery is undeniably real and alive in the 21st Century. The great thing is that with as little or as much effort as you’d like, you can be part of the solution. If you can observe, hear or simply pass on this information, then you are part of the solution. Here’s some information that can change your life by helping you change someone else’s life. Let’s be there for those who can’t help themselves and the next time you hear the term “No Fear” let it remind that you that you can make the choice for change.

ECPAT-USA (Ending Child Prostitution and Trafficking) is a network of organizations and individuals working together to eliminate the commercial sexual exploitation of children around the world. Our mission is to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights, free from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation. We undertake research, training, awareness raising, policy development and advocacy to protect:

Children who are sexually exploited by Americans who travel abroad;
Children who are trafficked to the United States from other countries; and
American children who are trafficked and exploited within their own country.

We are the leading policy organization in the United States and belong to an international network of organizations that have offices in 73 countries around the world. We promote the Code of Conduct as a means for the travel industry to work with law enforcement and prevent their services from aiding the exploitation of child victims.

CODE OF CONDUCT is an industry driven responsible tourism initiative co-funded by the Swiss Government (SECO) and by the tourism private sector and supported by the ECPAT International network. Advisory partners: UNICEF and UNWTO.
