Sole Hope Is Making a Difference

Sole Hope is an amazing organization making a huge difference for African children. Most young children in Uganda and Zambia are shoe-less leaving their feet vulnerable to a parasite known as the jigger. The impregnated female jigger embeds itself in the skin under the toenails and fingernails of man and warm blooded animals – where the resultant sores may fill with pus and become infected. When the passionate and committed people of Sole Hope saw the pain and suffering of these small children they could not turn away. They began a program to help put shoes on these children. Once Sole Hope began the program they also saw a need for widowed and abandoned women who were destitute to find employment to support themselves. Sole Hope worked with these women teaching them to make the shoes that benefit these incredible children and in turn gives these women employment. What a great circle of hope and help for all involved.
